Abstract
As part of a forum in this issue of 'Rhetoric & Public Affairs' titled "The Politics of Archival Research," discusses the impact the cataloger has on cataloging and classifying archival items, using the example of the author's own research involving the depression-era Farm Security Administration photographs held at the Library of Congress.
