Weighing affects short-term feeding patterns of growing-finishing pigs

Abstract

Data from two experiments were analyzed to determine the effect of weighing on the feeding patterns of growing-finishing pigs. Pigs had reduced feed intake on the day of weighing compared to before and after the weigh day through reduction in either feed intake per visit or number of feeder visits.
