Abstract

At the Engineering Foundation Conference 'Stormwater NPDES Related Monitoring Needs' (NPDES Monitoring Conference) critical issues concerning impervious area, biological and ecological integrity/health and watershed integration were a focus for formal and informal discussions. Ecosystem and watershed issues have been regularly addressed in Engineering Foundation Conference sponsored by the Urban Water Resources Council (UWRRC), but a new urgency is suggested if findings presented at this conference are confirmed in other regions with other development characteristics. The following review of formal and informal conference discussions emphasizes issues of monitoring and analysis of bioassessment and toxicity testing data generated for compliance monitoring and watershed management.
