Abstract

Experiments were performed on open channel suspensions, in which the suspension was kept below capacity to ensure the absence of bed forms and the maintenance of a nearly smooth bed. A mathematical model was applied to these experimental results and predictions for the wake strength coefficient were compared with experimental values and a reasonable agreement was obtained. The governing equations, three and four equation models are presented. (A.J.)
