Visualizing the electric grid

Abstract

A power system visualization software, which stores large amount of information into a single computer-generated image, enabling the viewers to interpret the data rapidly and accurately, is presented. It expedites decision-making for congestion management, power trading, market organization, and investment planning for the long term. The visualization software provides a picture of the complex interaction between the grid and the power market, allowing market participants to respond more quickly to changing conditions.
