Abstract

Vibrational relaxation in low temperature pure and isotopically mixed crystals of naphthalene is studied by picosecond coherent Raman scattering. Studies of pure and mixed crystals of naphthalene with several deuteronaphthalenes have allowed the comparison of vibrational relaxation under conditions where the level energies, state densities and coupling matrix elements are different.
