Abstract

The effect of short atmospheric lifetime compounds on stratospheric ozone was discussed. State-of-the- art three-dimensional models of the global atmosphere were used to determine the changes in stratospheric chlorine or bromine. Chemical emissions were calculated based on the weight of the compound in question and were reported as the number of tons emitted. The models accurately determined ozone depletion potential for short atmospheric lifetimes.
