Abstract

A detailed investigation of the temperature and field dependence of reproducible steps in the magnetization and resistivity of Pr_0.5Ca_0.5Mn_1-xCo_xO₃ (x=0.05) was carried out. It was found that the onset of the steps is extremely sharp in temperature and that the steps themselves are extraordinarily sharp with a width of ΔH/H∼10^-4 even at temperatures immediately below the onset temperature.
