Abstract

A multiregion method for predicting temperature fields in the coolant, cladding and fuel regions of clustered rod tube bundles is developed. Analytical expressions for the circumferential variations of the inside and outside cladding wall temperatures and heat fluxes and of the cladding wall temperature drop are given. Pitch-to-diameter ratios over which single coolant region analyses of energy transport in tube bundles are approximately valid are defined.
