Abstract

This letter presents an accurate hybrid-mode analysis of suspended striplines with finite metallisation thickness and substrate supporting grooves. Particular attention is paid to the calculation of the characteristic impedance. The significant effects of finite metallisation thickness and substrate supporting grooves on the transmission characteristics of suspended striplines are revealed in the higher frequency range.
