Abstract

Let p be a prime number, ℚ_p the field of p-adic numbers, ℚ̄_p a fixed algebraic closure of ℚ_p, and ℂ_p the completion of ℚ̄_p with respect to the p-adic valuation. We study trace functions associated to p-adic measures defined on compact subsets of ℂ_p which are invariant under the action of the Galois group G = Gal_COnt(ℂ_p/ ℚ_p).
