Abstract

This paper utilizes a method advanced by Pandit and extended by Kapoor to develop a time series model for predicting tensile strength of cast aluminum engine blocks which were produced by a die casting process. An analysis of the fitted time series model provides a better understanding of the physical phenomena that can be responsible for inadequate tensile strength.
