Because one of the primary concerns in product design is ensuring a high level of system reliability throughout the product lifecycle, the ability to deal with the time-dependent probabilistic constraints necessary to carry out time-dependent reliability analysis in design is of vital importance in practical engineering design applications. Here, time-dependent reliability is defined as the probability that the time-dependent probabilistic constraints will be satisfied throughout the designed lifetime.",
