Time dependence of liquid-helium fluorescence

Abstract

Time dependence of liquid-helium fluorescence was discussed. Ionizing radiation in liquid helium at the temperature range of 250 mK to 1.8 K was studied. Results showed a short strong initial pulse which is followed by single photons whose emission rate decays exponentially with a 1.6-μs time constant.
