The greatest physics discovery of the 20th century

Abstract

My claim is that the greatest physics discovery of the 20th century is the realisation that the experimental predictions of quantum mechanics are under certain conditions inconsistent with those of any theory of the so-called “objective local” class and the subsequent experimental falsification of all such theories. This paper briefly examines the implications of this discovery for our conception of nature not only at the microscopic level of photons and electrons, but at the level of everyday life; in particular I conclude that even at this level counterfactual statements cannot always possess truth values.
