Abstract
The article offers information about the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), a leading force in advocating for the preservation of library materials. It provides leadership and guidance through the development of the Preservation Planning Program, metrics to information preservation decision making, and documentation of early practices and procedures for collections conservation, commercial binding, and program management.
