Abstract

Treatment of the silyl/methylene complex [Ru₂(η⁵- C₅Me₅)₂ (μ-CH₂)(SiMe ₃)Cl] with acetylene gives the first unsubstituted metallabenzene complex [Ru₂(η⁵-C₅Me₅) 2(η²,η⁵-C₅H₅)(SiMe ₃)], which has been characterised by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.
