Abstract
The present value, Net energy feasibility of 44 energy-transforming processes was calculated and compared on a purely energy-efficient basis. The method allows a quantitative comparison of all forms of supply and end-use processes - whether they are from renewable or nonrenewable sources of energy, whether they are fuel, electricity, space heating or transport end-use, or whether the energy gain results from a substitution that frees energy for use elsewhere. The availability of suitable data with the requisite validity would permit the analytical procedure to be applied broadly in the process of formulating and implementing energy policy.-from Author
