Abstract

The article focuses on the Edwards copper falcon headdress discovered by Don Edwards at an Upper Mississippian Langford traditional site in Illinois in the mid-1960s. The headdress represents a falcon image in which its features were embossed into the copper with three large sections such as the head, body, and tail estimated to date after A.D. 1200. The headdress was also compared to the Peoria falcon plat and the Upper Bluff Lake falcon.
