Abstract

The drought monitor which is a system which provides timely relevant and helpful information on drought is developed. The strength of drought monitor is its inclusion of input from climate and water experts. Improvements in drought monitoring and forecasting techniques will allow for better preparation, and management practices, and reduce the vulnerability of society to drought and its subsequent impacts.
