Abstract

89Y Magic-angle sample-spinning n.m.r. spectroscopy has been used to show that Y3+ ions in cubic, fluorite-like (Bi 2O3)1-x(Y2O3) x solid solutions are associated with a pair of anion vacancies along <111>.
