Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Excavations at the Booker site (11PK867) in Pike County, Illinois, revealed a burned fourteenth-century Mississippian house structure and four associated pit features. The Booker site is located in the Sny Bottom of the Mississippi Valley, an area that has been noted for its paucity of Mississippian materials. This article summarizes the Booker investigations and places the site within the context of the Mississippian occupation of the Sny Bottom.
