Test of CPT and Lorentz invariance from muonium spectroscopy

Abstract

To date, no unambiguous violation of CPT or Lorentz invariance has been observed although tests have been done on many systems since 1960. Results are presented that represent Planck scale sensitivity, and almost an order of magnitude improvement in sensitivity over previous limits on the muon parameters of the theory. The results also represent the first test for sidereal variations in the second generation of leptons, where Lorentz- and CPT-violating effects may be enhanced.
