Temperature inhomogeneity during multibubble sonoluminescence

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

(Figure Presented) Bright bubbles! Ultrabright sonoluminescence is observed from concentrated phosphoric acid (see picture). Two independent molecular emission species (excited OH and PO) can be observed from multibubble sonoluminescence; both of them can be used as spectroscopic thermometers to probe the extreme conditions generated during bubble collapse.
