Abstract

There has been substantial concern in the residential retrofit industry regarding the impact on indoor air quality due to the pursuit of energy savings, especially air sealing. This project compared the combined indoor air quality and energy impacts in homes receiving energy retrofits. There were no statistically significant changes in indoor contaminant levels as a result of retrofits This finding suggests that it is possible to implement comprehensive energy efficiency measures without compromising indoor air quality.
