Abstract

In this conclusion to the special issue titled When We See Us: The Interior Lives of Black Women Educators and Their Students Within Carceral Spaces, the authors utilize kitchen table talk methodology to wrestle with the concepts of protecting Black interiority, issues of healing and wellness for Black women within carceral spaces, and the importance of developing a global perspective of incarceration. Additionally, the authors share what they have learned in working alongside people, including loved ones, who are incarcerated and what they hope readers of this special issue can also learn in this current attack on Black education.
