Abstract

A Taylor-Ulitovsky method can be used to prepare Ni53.96Mn 24.12Ga21.92 micro-wires with diameters ranging from 5-200 μm. The micro-wires exhibits large super-elasticity (up to 10.9%) without breaking (see graph). The serrations on the stress-strain curves are observed during unloading, while no obvious serrations during the loading process were noticed.
