Abstract

A study was conducted on the resolution of image quantitatively and the physical reason for super-resolution phenomenon. As such, the study demonstrated that the information of evanescent waves in the measurement data and involved in the inversion algorithms in the inversion algorithms was the main reason for super resolution. This was because high spatial frequency components of the object were contained in the evanescent waves.
