Abstract

The synthesis and properties of (C₅Me₅)₂Ru₂-Cl_xS _y (x, y: 2, 4; 4, 2) and (C₅Me₅)₄Ru₄E₄ (E = S, Se, Te) are described along with an improved preparation of (C₅-MB₅)₂Ru₂S₄. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed the cubane structure of (C₅Me₅)₄Ru₄Se₄, which features two bonding Ru-Ru contacts.
