Abstract
This paper examines the stochastic stability of supported pipes conveying fluid when the flow velocity is perturbed both harmonically and stochastically about a constant mean value. The stability analysis is performed only in the region where the mean velocity is below the critical divergence mean velocity. The explicit stability conditions for perturbations of small intensity and small correlation time are obtained using the method of averaging and its extension to stochastic systems.
