Abstract

A study of the static and seismic stability of landfill slopes was performed. Various remedial actions were discussed to avoid landfill slopes that include: design consideration, liner slope stability, cover slope stability, regulations, analysis methods, operational considerations, site inspection, and emergency actions. The largest U.S. landfill slope failure occurred in Ohio.
