Sport psychology in the eighties: Some current developments

Abstract

This symposium was designed to address a few of the more topical areas in the rapidly developing field of sport psychology. The areas represented (psychological aspects of sport participation in young athletes, self-regulation of sport behavior, and the psychophys-iology of exercise) denote theoretical and methodologically sound contemporary sport psychology questions and methods. The symposium is overvicwed in this paper and each topic briefly introduced.
