Special higher-order finite element method for scattering by large cavities

Abstract

A special higher-order finite element method (FEM) was derived for the analysis of electromagnetic scattering from a large, deep, arbitrarily-shaped open cavity. The method was successfully used to compute the radar cross section (RCS) of cavities modeled with millions of unknowns.
