Abstract
The recovery of an unusual raptor figurine made from Missouri flint clay at a site in St. Francois County, Missouri, provides additional insight into Mississippian avian symbolism and into the artistic and symbolic traditions of the twelfth-century A.D. people associated with the Greater Cahokian sphere.
