Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Using previously unavailable archival materials, this article questions the often-cited belief that "nonmusical actors" in Nashville (1975) wrote and performed their own songs "from the character's point of view," in director Robert Altman's words, to lend "a reality as well as a theatrical depth to the songs and performances."
