Abstract

The article presents information on the challenges faced by the producers of local foods especially the small scale producers of the U.S. The federal policy of maximizing production has resulted in the extinction of family farmers in the country. Information on the industrialization of food with reference to the role of the Food and Drug Administration of the U.S. is also presented.
