Sintering and deformation of nano-grained materials

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Nano-grained ceramics and intermetallic alloys were produced by inert gas condensation methods. Rates of densification and grain growth were measured on both pure and impurity-doped ceramic materials during conventional sintering, and sintering under an applied isostatic or uniaxial loading. Deformation studies were performed on intermetallic nano-grained TiAl. Initial studies of nano-amorphous alloys are also presented.
