Single nano-slit and nano-hole spectroscopy in the near and the far-field

Abstract

Emission patterns, both in the near and the far-field, are studied on single nano-holes and nano-slits punctured in optically thick metal films. The results suggest that excitation of surface plasmons also plays an important role for light transmission through non-periodic nanostructures.
