Abstract

We observe a drive dependent phase transition for the 2D electron crystal in a magnetic field. The critical field, Bcrit, depends upon pressingelectric field, temperature, and driveamplitude. BCrit→0 as we approach the thermodynamic Wigner transition temperature. The data is analyzed witha simple shearing model from which we infer a yield strength for the electron crystal.
