Abstract

Several extensions to neural network based adaptive output feedback control of nonlinear systems are developed. An extension that permits the introduction of e-modification in an error observer based approach is given. For the case of non-affine systems, we eliminate a fixed point assumption that has appeared in earlier work, and clarify the role that knowledge of the sign of control effectiveness plays in adaptive control.
