Abstract
The article narrates the search for Fort Johnson, in Hancock County, Illinois. Events and individuals which were significant in the discovery of the remains of Fort Johnson/Cantonment Davis are cited. It mentions that the initial research on the location of Fort Johnson/Cantonment Davis consisted of reviewing documentary sources, old maps and air photos, and interviewing the locals. The research will reportedly help in clearing up the life led by people stationed at the frontier.
