Abstract

An equation for determining emitter flow within a submain unit was derived based on the dimensionless energy gradient curve and energy changes due to slope situations. A computer simulation was made to determine emitter flows along a single lateral line or a submain unit and randomly to pick samples for field evaluation. Simulation results show that the variation of calculated V//T (coefficient of variation of emitter flow) using different sample sizes can be presented by statistical confidence limits for samples from a normal distribution. The distribution of V//T for a fixed sample size is also found to be normally distributed.
