Abstract

Exchange frequencies in bulk hcp 4He were calculated as atoms undergo ring exchange. Monte Carlo method was used for the purpose of analysis. The frequencies were fitted to a lattice model and the chances of such atoms becoming a supersolid were examined. It was found that the scaling with respect to the number of exchanging atoms is such that the superfluid behavior is not observable in a perfect 4He crystal.
