Abstract

The wall boundary conditions for compressible flows adjacent to moving slip and no-slip walls are revisited. The wall-normal pressure gradient is found to depend only on the wall acceleration for no-slip walls, while for slip walls the wall-normal pressure gradient depends on the acceleration, convection, and curvature. In this paper, the non-zero pressure gradient boundary conditions for dynamic meshes are formulated. This work provides accurate boundary conditions for use in predicting coupled and uncoupled fluid-structure interaction problems.
