Abstract

The mass-velocity, Darwin, and magnetic corrections to the 3P-5S and s2p2-sp3 splitting of carbon and the 3B1-1A1 splitting in CH2 have been evaluated by first-order perturbation theory. We obtained corrections of 92 cm-1 for 3P-5S, 100 cm-1 for the s2p2-sp3 configuration average and 15 cm-1 for 3B1-1A1.
