Abstract

The relationship between mechanistic research with air pollutant effects on vegetation under carefully controlled conditions and field oriented research is illustrated. The relative responses of greenhouse and field grown beans under ozone stress and new technology manifested in improved teflon chambers that allow quantitative representation of field responses are discussed.
