Reflecting Community Through Collaborative Public Art Projects

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

This essay is a reflection on a project that brought art experiences and resources to an elementary school to produce creative collective messaging while learning from and with the community. Embedded in the belief that the arts can provide opportunities to address inequities, advocate for communities, and revitalize community school pride, this project focused on a series of social practice art projects collaboratively created between university art teachers, visiting artists, and an elementary school community.
