Abstract
Literacy Narratives in Composition [..] what we call literacy narratives are those stories, like Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, that foreground issues of language acquisition and literacy. These narratives are structured by learned, internalized 'literacy tropes'[...] Literacy narratives sometimes include explicit images of schooling and teaching; they include texts that both challenge and affirm culturally scripted ideas about literacy.
