Production of deep blue tunable picosecond light pulses by synchronous pumping of a dye laser

Abstract

We report on the production of picosecond pulses in the region of 420 nm to 470 nm using a synchronously pumped Stilbene 3 dye laser. The pump source is an actively mode-locked argon ion laser operating on a single ultraviolet line or on all three ultraviolet lines simultaneously.
