Abstract
The principal subsystems of the NRL Modified Betatron Accelerator (MBA) have been designed. These subsystems include the air-core magnets, the mechanical structure, the vacuum system, the injector accelerator, and the pulse power capacitor banks. The MBA concept uses an applied toroidal magnetic field B// theta (2-5 kG) to improve the stability and confinement of a multikiloamp e-beam.
